Through the various Kiwanis scholastic student recognition programs, the club promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. Students work with their teachers and/or club volunteer liaisons to establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, schoolwork, and provide service to the community. The Terrific Kids recognition ceremonies are held periodically on Friday mornings each week through the month. *See our Calendar of Events for upcoming ceremonies.
We provide financial support the schools' music programs and award scholarships to select high school students.
Within the community of Moorpark and surrounding region, our club promotes and/or supports various community events. We support the arts with donations, we collect and sort food for those in need, and assist local law enforcement in managing street closures during community events. We have a mission to be extremely visible within the community.
We are extremely privileged to be living free and we have a duty to support those that support us in our freedoms. We provide refreshments at The American Legion Moorpark Post 502's Memorial Day and Veterans Day rememberance events.
We work with the librarians at the local schools and the Moorpark City Library to help organize, clean, and repair the library books.
We support complementary foundations and charities within our community because they have been so supportive of our club.
Our children are our future. Our club's entire existence rests on supporting youth around the world and especially within Moorpark.
We help clean and organize the elementary, middle, and high school libraries.
We provide traffic control at the MHS groundhog day run.
