Through the various Kiwanis scholastic student recognition programs, the club promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. Students work with their teachers and/or club volunteer liaisons to establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance or schoolwork. Student recognition ceremonies are help periodically on Thursday and Friday mornings each week through the month. *See our Calendar of Events for upcoming ceremonies.
Within the community of Moorpark and surrounding region, Kiwanis promotes and/or supports various community appreciation events. Whether working with local business at Christmas to provide toys to 300 children selected by First Five, to supporting the arts with donations, to collecting and sorting food for those in need, to assisting local law enforcement in managing street closures during community events. Kiwanis has a mission to be extremely visible within the community.
We are extremely privileged to be living free and we have a duty to support those that support us in our freedoms.
We support complementary foundations and charities within our community because they have been so supportive of our club.
Our children are our future. Our clubs's entire existence rests on supporting youth around the world and especially within Moorpark.
We believe that socializing and fundraising within the community builds trust in our club by the members of the community while supporting local, commercial establishments.
